Karen brings a wealth of knowledge, hands-on experience, and calm, compassionate care to MereCat Lodge. For eight years, she volunteered at a wildlife park in Hertfordshire, working with a wide range of animals, from big cats to monkeys, gaining deep insight into animal behaviour, welfare, and enrichment.
Michelle is the heart behind MereCat Lodge, bringing warmth, experience, and a lifelong love of animals to everything she does. A devoted cat lover and proud mum, she’s helped shape the Lodge into a calm, comforting space where feline guests are treated like family, with plenty of cuddles, care, and attention.
Michelle and Karen have been friends since their school days and have worked closely together in animal care for the past few years. Their shared passion for feline wellbeing and deep respect for nature inspired them to create MereCat Lodge, a peaceful countryside retreat where every cat is truly cherished.
